An excellent "how to" book which truly starts with the very basics. If you are a "dummy," then this is the book for you. It starts with the assumption that the reader knows very little about the iPhone, then progresses to more difficult concepts. I started knowing nothing about the iPhone, but now after reading this book, feel quite competent.

I bought this book 'by mistake' along with another book on iPhone . I think this book is much better, well written and easier to understand. I am 72 and am really into my gadgets. I was able to program the things I use quite quickly. The 'other' book was not as well organized. I made a happy mistake.

Book skips over the early models (five c) Also the book is written for people who already know a lot about these phones. An old person like myself couldn't get much out of it. It tells you to do different things but not how to do them. Don't buy this if you don't already know these phones.

Help my parents a lot. Easy step by step guide with clear and concise instructions.

What I like about this book is that it's organized by function therefore I don't have to look thru pages and pages of the data to find what I need . I have other books to provide more detail when I need it - but this one gets me there faster

Pregnant couples will love this book, there are sections of the book that show exactly how big the baby is and what it looks like at different stages of development. I found myself referring to this book almost every day while I was pregnant. This is an excellent book to share with children. I also found the text fascinating. This book is not as in-depth as the book "A Child is Born", which is the classic "from-conception-to-birth" book. Though I prefer this book for it's format and because it is less graphic. I would recommend this book for anyone curious about the birth process and definately for anyone expecting a child.

Purchased this book for my daughter who was expecting her first baby. She loved being able to keep track of what was happening and what to expect. Would definitely recommend this one!!!

Very good book

I love the photos in this book and definitely recommend it. If you want to see what's going on in there and aren't satisfied with infrequent blurry ultrasounds (who is?) this is the book for you! It's great to see the stages of the baby's growth. I kind of wish it was organized slightly differently, like by the week. It does go in order, but with some overlap.However, be warned, based on my experience and others I have read here, there seems to have been some sort of manufacturing problem with it. The pages crackle as you turn them because they are pulling out of the white glue in the binding and will eventually fall out. I'm returning the book to Amazon for a replacement, but there seems to be a lot of problems with a lot of these books, so I'm not completely confident that the same thing won't happen with the replacement. So, you might not want to give it as a gift since a gift recipient might feel awkward trying to figure out how to return the faulty product.

I purchased this book in 2003 for my, then 13, year old nephew. His mother raised him by telling him the formal (not slang) names for his body parts. It was a great book for him, as kids like picture books. He looked at it and read more and more of it as he got a bit older. He already knew much of the information inside of the book; however, there is a difference in hearing than there is in seeing.

I've always depended on the reviews from fellow Amazon readers, and it's guided me to some great books I'd have otherwise not read. This, unfortunately, is one of those "how-the-hell-did-this-get-5-stars" situations that has driven me to write a review (something I would typically not do).The story is relatively sound, and in the world of martial fantasy, certainly good enough for a casual read and peaked my interest. The writing, however, is largely terrible. Nightblade reads like a second draft rushed to publishing. The flow is constantly, consistently spoiled by repetitive language, repetitive paragraph structure, and some just downright ****y sentence structure. For example:"The man lived and breathed swordsmanship because from the man's glances Orochi could tell he was about to ask about Orochi's blade"That is a horrible sentence. It's awkward, garbled, and manages to use the name Orochi twice in short order. Likewise, there have been several instances of back-to-back paragraphs stating the same thing in slightly different ways. Use of the word "kingdom" in three consecutive sentences, the staggering amount of times the world "cycles" appears in this book, etc.The potential is there, certainly, and I imagine I may enjoy the second book in the trilogy much more if I can bring myself to read it. I've only made it to about 80% of the way through Nightblade by aggressive skipping of paragraphs and pages when the writing gets under my skin. Perhaps I've just been spoiled by the likes of Will Wight, Jim Butcher, Pierce Brown, Robin Hobb and Scott Lynch (to name a few).If you're not the type of person to be bothered those sorts of grammatical and structural issues, you'll probably really enjoy the book. If you're like me and find the experience easily ruined by clumsy turn of phrase, then skip this one. While I appreciate the enthusiasm of the book's fans, I have a very hard time understanding how this is a 5-star-near-perfect effort.

This gets 3 stars because the premise of the story is decent. That being said, the writer really needs an editor. Characters names are mentioned way too much and the fight scenes are nonexistent. I know that the Nightblades are suppose to be unbelievably fast, however they seem even too fast for the writer, as there is little to no detail when it comes to these scenes. One minute they are preparing for a fight, the next minute people are dead. I found myself checking to see if I skipped a page somehow. The telling seems rushed or as if he doesn't have enough knowledge in fighting styles or sword play or anything for that matter. Characters make strange decisions that push the story line in a direction that's rather forced. The writer has the basis of a good idea but can't seem to get any traction. I feel like if he did his homework, took his time and got a good editor, he would have something really entertaining

This was not a bad book. It had a lot of potential with the storyline and characters, and the character development was good as well. The plot was easy to follow, and flowed nicely. Like many of the reviewers I did find the grammar and writing style needed some work, but not to the point that it hindered me from reading the book. The main problems that made this just an okay read were the fight scenes. We had a few battles that were lead up to and staged very well. But when we got to the climatic fights they were over in a sentence or two. There was no detail whatsoever. It was if the characters met, then the fight was over, with everything in between skipped. Keep in mind, this is a book about a fighter with unmatched abilities…but we never see him fight, we only see him win. So essentially we had a fantasy adventure about a young warrior, but we are missing all the action. Based on this I am struggling on whether or not to continue with the series.

Effortless storytelling that never feels contrived or gimmicky.The author does a fine job with this trilogy,and I really can't find anything wrong with his storytelling.Things are kept simple, and characters stay true to their nature even as they are developed.The villans and conflicts in the story are not all black and white,and the author does a good job of portraying the turmoils of living with decisions where there seems to have been no right answer,Decisions that are hard and don't always turn out for the best--or even as good as could reasonably be expected.The story may not be as enigmatic as more popular stories that have become TV shows,but the books are not over written, and the writer does not sabatoge the story with attempts at grandiosity...This rare level of discipline and integrity births a story told with seemingly effortless grace--and nothing to distract the reader from becoming truely immersed in the story...

Bad news first - I dropped a star because I felt the flow of emotions (especially in the moment) was too back and forth in many places.Now for the good news - you're going to enjoy the storyline, the plotting, the pacing, the brevity of the action scenes (yet each one powerful in its own way), the unexpected intricacy of the character interaction and how everything seems to be disjointed at first - but comes together in the end as a crescendo you weren't sure you saw coming.Hard not to turn the pages, and that's an endorsement every author strives for. Well done, Mr. Kirk, please, may I have some more?
