This guide provides a pretty good preparation. It goes into explaining/recapping many of the physics & math concepts that are in the test. While it doesn't serve as a full teaching tool, it certainly helps to refresh everything for the Mechanical Concepts & Mathematical Usage sections of the test. I can't speak much to the Tables & Graphs and Reading Comprehension sections, as I didn't focus much on these, but I figure that they are likely similar.The practice tests are a nice addition to the ones you can download from the EEI website. It gives you another opportunity to prctice without going over problems which you've already seen & done. The one complaint I have here is that the Mathematical Usage practice test is nothing but conversions. It would've been a big help to have algebra & word problems included. Perhaps EEI didn't allow them to included those?Finally, the book provides some good general studying and test taking tips - how to eliminate some of the answer choices was particularly helpful. There is also a web address at the end of the book for additional materials.All in all, it was definitely worth the 40-some dollars I spent to help get a job that could make a difference of thousands.

This book was utterly useless. The test I took had little to none of this information in it. And what little info it had was on the stuff I already knew or understood. What I should have gotten was a book on tools and mechanics.

This book has good info. However, it is way overpriced. Similar info is available for free online. Passing the POSS test boils down to your aptitude (either you have it or you don't) and how fast you can complete the test.

I purchased both products to use as a teaching guide when I help prepare my students to take both the MASS and POSS examinations. My students must pass both the MASS and POSS to be considered for internships at a nuclear power station. I have no doubt that these products will have a positive impact on the success rate of my students.

Great study guide. I feel way more confident to take the test than I did before. Also, I really like how you have a YouTube account with lots of videos. This helped me with the math that I haven't seen in 13 years. Thanks!

The study guide didn't match up with the POSS test I was given. Two whole sections in the study guide weren't on my test. And the test had zero algebra questions, while the study guide focused heavily on it. Perhaps worst of all, there was a section on the test that wasn't even in the study guide. This was a waste of money. You should just go through the free practice test online and study what is on there.

Lots of helpful formulas, it also has links for videos to give a visual understanding along w/the text

Shipping was fast from this seller. But the book was not as helpful as I thought it would be. When I took the test for Valero, they only had mechanical aptitude, and reading charts and graphs and being able to manipulate the data on the graphs.

If you are intrigued by the K....then no doubt you will be intrigued a little more?.....it's a beautiful read,so it is....easy on the mind.... although I happen to forget the general... good book for Kabbalah studies. very good treatment of the basic source material with attention to allegory and symbolism of the conceptual and a better treatise than many of contemporary works.

I was interested in this book cause it kept being cited in the Golden Dawn and Kabbalah books I'd been reading. When I saw this 1967 Citadel paperback for cheap in a used book store, I snagged it for a song. Originaly published in 1843, this French book is not new, but for a long time this was about the only book that made the Kabbalah understandable to the uninitiated.This book concerns itself with Kosher Kabbalah. Hermeticism gets barely a mention. Franck maps out what Kabbalah is, and where it came from. I found his discussion of the Supernals to be most enlightening, seeing stuff here I'd never come across anywhere else. His explanation of the other triads was excellent as well.His examination of where Kabbalah came from was less interesting to me, but might be most interesting for others. While he notes resemblances between Kabbalah and Platonism, Neoplatonism, Philo, and Christianity, he rejects the notion of any close connection between these and the formation Kabbalah. Instead he posits that Kabbalah was influenced by Zoroasterism during the Hebrews' sojourn in Babylon. I found his argument convincing.

Mimi's book is a delightful collection of international recipes for making chicken soup. I discovered it after I had finished writing my book on the same subject CHICKEN SOUPS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. I couldn't believe that someone else was a crazy as me to spend so much time and effort researching and preparing this one dish. I loved her recipes and her personal descriptions. Obviously she comes from the same ethnic background as mine where Jewish chicken soup is synonomous with fighting a cold and winning plus savoring the comfort it brings. I really enjoyed comparing and contrasting our recipes. Mimi concentrated more on the rich traditions of European cooking where we both share a common ancestry. However, I believe I went farther afield to explore more regions of the world than she did. I have included more exotic recipes from places like Ethiopia, Armenia, Kenya, Tunisia, Peru, Indonesia, and Latvia. Also, I explored some of the indigenous regions of the U.S. like Wyoming, the Carolinas, Louisiana, Alaska, Hawaii, and New Mexico. In any case, I feel you can't know too many ways to make this incredibly healing and nutritious meal.

A Classic about what else? Chicken Soup!

This book has stood the test of time. I have an original edition from 1995, and I still reach for it frequently. The recipe for harira is one of the simplest and best every; worth the price for that recipe alone.I disagree that ingredients are hard to find. I cook all cuisines, and haven't noticed any unusual ingredients at all. The book is organized into geographic regions, so if you want to make an 'old school European' soup, just head to that section.I think this is an underrated gem that deserves more exposure.

I was hopeful that this would help our 4 yr old break a thumb-sucking habit, but wish I could have read the story before buying.First, the story introduces the idea that children who wear things to help them break bad habits will be mocked by their peers - something elementary children will sadly probably already know about (so the story will feel familiar and sympathetic) but not something that would ever occur to my preschooler (or her peers). So I would definitely have to censor that while reading.The reward that ultimately convinces Sister Bear to stop also won't be relevant for modern children. Wow, ten pennies. Commentary on changed society aside, I don't know a single child who would work *as hard as you have to!!* to break a bad habit for ten pennies. Either they're too young for the concept of pocket change to be highly motivating (they'd rather have an M&M), or they're old enough to know you can't do squat with ten or even thirty pennies. Shoot, even gumball machines charge $0.50.So, you could censor the mockery out, and redact the reward to make it ten nickels or ten M&Ms or something, but at the end of the day the ultimate solution given isn't realistic - "being aware" of having coins in her pocket makes Sister Bear not bite her nails, but most oral-motor fixations are something you do *without noticing* and don't even remember after. Not being realistic means it makes the problem of breaking a habit seem artificially easy, which will only increase discouragement for kids who are trying and failing. For that reason, I don't think this book is very relevant for parents of children with this problem. But maybe it's a nice story if your kid has no bad habits.

With my ADHD son, I've purchased a fair amount of "therapy" books. And yet NONE of them cover this topic. Nor suggest a solution. So imagine my surprise that our beloved Berenstain Bears books had one that fit our need perfectly. All my kids love these books and so does my son. And they cover all kinds of topics that are important to us parents that we struggle with teaching our kids. For example, another favorite in our house is "Too Much Junk Food." These books cover these topics without sounding like a lecture! My kids quote them all the time. They have a gentle narrative that presents the problem in a natural tone, and they always present a solution delivered with a sense of wisdom verses technique (like in thereapy books). In this book, the solution is presented to Sister Bear in a way that gives her (the child) control over her situation. She then connects her choice of behavior to the result of that decision. She gets to keep some or all over her pennies that then get saved up for a bigger prize. It takes time to earn the prize, and therefore breaks the nail biting habit naturally over time. Sister is in charge of how many pennies she keeps a day and it takes her weeks to of continually making that choice, which in turn breaks her of the habbit. Brilliant. And so simple.

I got this to help my three year old who has recently started biting his nails. What I liked best about this book is that it emphasizes that breaking a habit is hard and takes time and work. The cover made me worried they might be really harsh with the little girl, but they were very kind and gentle as she worked through this habit.It hasn't stopped my son from biting his nails, but I think he appreciated feeling like he wasn't alone with his habit. I highly recommend it!

MY 6 YR OLD GRAND DAUGHTER WAS HAVING NIGHTMARES, THIS BOOK REALLY HELPED HER TO UNDERSTAND WHY WE CAN HAVE BAD DREAMS. SHE REALLY LOVES ALL THE BERENSTAIN BEARS BOOKS. THEY ARE SO WONDERFUL AND TEACH REALLY GREAT LESSONS.

WHO doesn't love the Berenstain Bears!? These are household favorites! And there seems to be one for almost every occasion. I get them for my kids as the situation calls for it. First day of school, Too much TV, Chores, New Baby, easing..... you name it. My 4 yr old is going to be getting a few of these for Christmas this year!! Cause Santa knows what's up!! ;)

Bought this book, along with some gross tasting nail polish, for my 2 1/2 year old nail biter. She loved the book and reading about Sister Bear's bad habit. It gave me a way to talk to her about biting her nails that didn't come across as scolding to her. We talked about the book and how her bad habit was just like Sister's. I don't know if it was the book, the gross polish, or a combination of the two, but now my daughter has long nails and her fingers aren't sore! Would highly recommend it!

Based on other reviews I choose to purchase 2. I paired this with "Stop Thumb Sucking, Thumbusters, Blue" and boy it has worked great!!! My 5 yr old would suck his thumb when he was: tires, sad, bored, anxious, etc. It got so bad that I caught him suckling him thumb in THE MIDDLE OF SOCCER PRACTICE!!! This has worked amazingly! We are usign the star chart AND used $0.25 prizes for reinforcing as suggested on the book. SUCCESS!!!!Hang in there parents!! There's light at the end of the tunnel ;)

I bought this book for my granddaughter who was having bad dreams and waking up every night crying. I was hoping this would have her see that the bears also experienced the same thing.
