I have been practicing as a Master’s prepared RN for many years, and as of the last year, I have taken on a new role, performing as a CM within an Integrated Case Management model. The study guide was recommended by other colleagues, and has been of significant assistance in preparing my successful transition. Due to the fundamental aspects of CM, outlined in the study guide, I have learned key concepts of performing my expected functions/duties, in an astute manner. I remain with a great deal to learn but feel confident in the knowledge that I have obtained thus far, and embellishment of my CM practice now, and into the future.
The biggest challenge for me was adjusting to how the questions are worded, so this book was nice in that regard. I used several study guides and still felt like most questions on that test had little to do with what was actually studied, so I'm not sure what the best guide is out there. Probably the practice test directly from the CCMC website.
The font is very very small, the pages are crammed with material, and there are obvious errors throughout the book. I took my CCM in December and passed, but this book was a hard read. I did enjoy the practice tests and practice questions though. For reference, I am an RN.
This book helped me prepare for my CCM certification exam. It did the trick, I passed on the 1st try. Had pertinent information in it. I liked the way the book was organized.
I like this review book it has a lot of relevant information and review questions.
The study guide is easy reading and not wordy. I like the practice test and the explanation of answers after each section of the guide.
It has clear easy to understand information but it may need more details on topics like vocational rehab. There is also a tiny error on page 94 the last number is missing on question #47. Â
This guide is organized in a way that is easily understood and progresses in a way that one can understand the steps in assessing a case from the beginning to end. The format also relates to the questions for easy reading and understanding. The organization also increases confidence in the presentation and one can focus on areas where knowledge is lacking.
