Probably a little simple for those who are studying hard but I wanted a set of flash cards and this is a set of flash cards! I have since started making my own from my own list of words. They can be made with Power Point or, in my case, a short PERL script to make linked HTML pages. The versions that require you to be online are not satisfactory for me since I wanted to use these while flying. The book doesn't start the flash card sequence until about 1/3 of the way through but it does have a lot of flash cards.
I'm a rank beginner in learning Spanish, so take that into consideration. On the plus side, I'm a rank beginner in learning Spanish. I've been looking for something simple and straightforward to use in getting accustomed to Spanish nouns and verbs, and this is the best I've found so far. It also contains adverbs and adjectives, by the way. Each word is presented in its Spanish form with a pronunciation guide (not with weird marks but in a way that an English speaker can understand) and a brief definition for the word. Nice and concise. I actually started with Rosetta Stone but quickly got frustrated at not having a convenient way to learn a little more about each word, and this seems so far to be a good back up for the Rosetta Stone exercises.
For people who are trying to make the Spanish language their second language, this is a most useful tool. Even if you have only a few minutes a day you can go through one section of flash cards to test your knowledge and pronunciation. This tool is especially effective because the instructor is Spanish speaking and a teacher. He grew up with the language. I have several core texts that help with Spanish and the flash card fits well with them. It's sight ,sound, writing, and practice that makes you fluent, and comfortable. Dictionaries and translators are nice to have , but of little use if you don't recognize the correct word and pronunciation.

Well worth the price. It starts with a quick summation of pronunciation, followed by a glossary divided by word type. I was disappointed thinking this was the flash cards. But eventually you get there. My only wish is they had done them both ways. I wanted to read the English and state the Spanish translation. Why not both ways?But, if you are learning the language, this is a great quick practice on a plane that you can refer back to repeatedly and quickly. I finished in one quick plane ride and will now refer back on other plane rides. One of the many tools to use to learn languages particularly in Kindle. I like it.
Flashcards? These are not flashcards! It's just a long list of words! Then it says if you want the "bonus" of flashcards (- "bonus"?! That what I paid for), we have to go to his site an download it in pdf. What a rip off. I want my money back.
A plethora of information to read and take in. I do recommend this as a supplement to audio lessons as well as immersion into this beautiful and easy to learn language. This book has helped so much in my progression!
